networking, recruitment, events, entrepreneur, inspiring, GDPR, cyber security
Here at Rock, I think it's safe to say, we don't do things normally.
Between our team we have been here there and everywhere - which we are not complaining about, it's not in every recruitment agency you can get out and about to network, go to events and see your clients in a whole host of different venues across Bournemouth.
Just a quick roundup of the last two weeks (manic!):
We kicked off last week by hosting the Aspiring Women Dorset Event, organised by Marie Smith of SUCCESSSMITH, who bought Jo Kane along to present on the topic of Building Resilience and Self Confidence through Self Awareness. All of the room left feeling truly inspired and empowered with some tricks and tips on how to develop this into their everyday lives. https://aspiring-women.co.uk/dorset-2017-october-17/
Then just two, very short, days after we hosted the Rock Star Awards 2017 at the O2 Academy in Bournemouth which gave way to an evening of celebration & inspiration. We were lucky enough to be able to meet and award nine fantastic individuals that evening and raised over £7300 for the Bournemouth Hospital Charity's Diabetes Clinic. It couldn't have happened without our incredible sponsors, all our winners are slowly being announced on your Facebook page - www.facebook.com/TheRockStarAwards/
This week we were kindly invited along to the last 'You Are The Media Lunch' Club of the year by Mark Masters where colleagues Camila, Fleur & Lucy got to network and hear some interesting talks from Jake Moore from Dorset Police discussing Cyber Secruity and how he has created insightful and creative content around this. We then had a very useful talk from Mark Gracey from Flavourfy telling us a little bit about the implications of GDPR to the marketing industry.
Rock also co-hosted the Entrepreneurs & Start-Ups Event @ 1812 Bar & Restaurant in Bournemouth this week along with Barclays and Inferno Media. The room was buzzing, with lots of people coming along to network and hear a short talk from Chris White from The Boat Club as well as Danny Jones from Barclays. It's so important to support and nurture up and coming businesses or companies that are already doing it but just need some tips and advice.
Next week is another busy one... most of the Rock team are heading to the Shelley Theater on Halloween to watch the official showcase of 'Treaters' - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fo0JXjyszMs - we're so excited!! We will also be hosting the Westbourne Networking Association's Networking Event on the 1st of November, please get in touch if you want to join us - goo.gl/AVMPsf
Finally we all have our fingers and toes crossed for Angela as she is up for the Inspirational Women's award at the Dorset Venus Awards on Thursday the 2nd of November.
Lots learnt and lots to celebrate!
