We believe that all businesses have a social responsibility to operate not only ethically and legally, but also to engage with our environment and community, embracing activities which go beyond the good of our own company, clients and candidates. It's our business conscience and we enjoy taking it very seriously.
Rock's values underpin how all of our staff interact and behave. We try to extend this through our business practices, demonstrating pride, respect, recognition, happiness loyalty, fairness and honesty. We help where we can with fundraising for charities, assisting businesses with advice and assistance where we are able to and in involving ourselves with the towns we work in and their comminuties. Some examples? We're happy to explain them below...
Rock Star Awards
In 2012, Rock launched an awards event, celebrating talented young people and the companies that develop them into Dorset's stars of the future. Many under 26 year old's come through the doors at Rock with impressive academic results, achievements from work or other environments and bags of determination and ambition. So,we decided it was time to bring these amazing young people to the attention of Dorset's employers. The result was an inspiring and humbling event which opened doors for all of our finalists.
Our vision for the Rock Star Awards is for it to provide practical work experience and opportunities for young people. We know how important it is to have something practical and impressive to talk about in an interview, so we offer opportunities to people who want to work in event management, catering, media and marketing and also to musicians and performers.
The Rock Star Awards has given us a platform to talk at schools to sixth formers about employability and how competitive it is in the job market and our team regularly take part in school assemblies and presentations to year groups about this.
At Rock we support one charity each year and endeavour to raise funds and awareness for that cause. In 2014, we supported Julia's House Hospice and were delighted to have raised over £7,000 in total for them within the 12 months. In 2015 we are supporting the National MPS Society, funding research to bring therapies and cures to children and adults with MPS and their families. Our team will take part in a variety of sponsored activities to support this charity.
We frequently take part in events that are going on in Christchurch and Poole. If there's a carnival, fete, christmas light switch on or sponsored egg and spoon race going on in our community, you will find us there with our Rock Hi-Vis jackets and bags of energy!
